[There's a dull thud of his Dreamberry dropping to the floor as Eliot accidentally nudged the phone off of something.

Apparently, the boy decided to pick it up later. There's some quiet shuffling for a moment, before this song starts playing, somewhat muted as the phone was face down on the floor ( Read more... )

[When he saw who was calling, he had an automatic reaction of anger. Jack Bezarius promised to talk to him MONTHS ago, and hadn't... But the name Jack mentioned made him totally forget about that.]

How do you know about Lacie?!

[Clearly the Noble had been avoiding said promised talk, though by now it seemed he could no longer run away. He had to talk with him about this.]

That was..

That was what?! How do you know about it?! [There's no way he should be able to. Eliot had just written it. Jack lived a hundred years ago! Not only did he know the melody, but the name too?!]

[...oh?]

My, my, Mister Eliot, I was not aware that you play.

Well, I do. Why is everyone so surprised?!

Perhaps it is the melody that they find most surprising. Did you compose it yourself?

Yes, I did. [Yep. He totally composed it. Probably.]

[He's quiet for a moment, then--]

Little brother, do turn off the camera.

Not everyone enjoys hearing dissonance so early in the morning.

How many times do I have to say, the thing turned on by itself!

Is that to say that you are being bested by a small mechanical device?

[Twitch. Vincent may be his brother, but he was so infuriating sometimes.]

It dropped and the on button got hit!

[And sometime later after she wakes up (not questioning the bout of exhaustion for now) and learns how to use this damned thing, she comes across this in the Dreamberry archive. A day later and it would have been to late to see this.]

This is...

[Whatever Elliot was doing was automatically dropped the second he realized who was calling him. The recorded moment in question had a lot to do with her already... he didn't think she would be able to find this though!]

Uh--- Vanessa, it's....

[He thought back to the dream, knowing exactly why he had an outburst after playing the song in the first place. Partially, he didn't even know if she was ever going to be able to hear it or not.]

It's Lacie. I told you about it, right?

[She's silent a moment, wondering if she can play it a second time. Damned technology. It's a miracle that she managed to play it a first time.]

The one that you wrote for mother, right?

[... He actually was hoping that wouldn't work, but it did.

The only time he ever told her about Lacie was in that dream. He never had the chance to in reality. Even more proof that she really had already gone through that moment.

He's still not going to show her any reaction. Would his sister really know she was dead? Would she even want to be reminded? Maybe all she would want right now is to live the extra time she was getting as if nothing had happened.]

Right. For her birthday party.
