perhaps i should try this drinking trick...both to finish me 2nd round entry, 'the best laid plans' (which i haven't written in 2+ weeks) or perhaps unexpected grace which has suffered most severely from my disease of writer's block. unless half-assed attempts count as something.

Yes, half-arsed attempts *do* count as you can come back to them later - at least you're thinking about the direction of the fic. Sometimes it just helps to get something written, I find, even if you have to cut it later on. Looking forward to seeing your next installment!

I was surprised to re-read this in the light of day and find that it's OK! Very glad you enjoyed, I know some people dislike the lazy dialogue-only way of getting an idea across quickly. Lots of fics have Snape down as a heavy drinker, but I like the idea of him unable to lose control, except for this one glorious night!

And of course the Slytherins have Wham at their xmas party, it's not a real xmas party without that song!
