A friend of mine from high school (I think she was 2 years older than me) is possibly going to the olympics! I was one of the managers for track in high school and this girl, Summer Pierson, was on the team and so we became good friends. I vaguely remember her saying one day she wanted to go the olympics. that's exciting.. I went to HS with a girl who made the Commonwealth Games team back in 1992.. they made a huge fuss about it at school, she was in my year.. I remember having fund raising BBQs and events for her!! She was a swimmer! Then I knew a girl who was on her way to the Olympics for gymnastics, I went right throughout school with her.. she was even training at the Olympic training facility in our capital city.. then she just quit! it's pretty cool to know someone who can excel at something like this, ya know. some of these olympic hopefuls - well, i'm just amazed at what they can do! especially the swimmers.

i'm a HUGE fan of the summer olympics, especially anything and everything that happens with gymnastics, swimming and track and field.

I guy I was friends with in HS was 4th runner up for Swimming a few years back - that was pretty exciting... then of course there's good 'ol Judd Logan that's from our city (I think he graduated with my brother) that won the bronze medal in the shotput (or was it discus? some sort of heavy object throwing) and lost it due to steriod use. They took down THAT banner right quick! LOL
