Only Boston people will really care about this, but did you guys hear the Red Sox traded Nomar??? This was so stupid, in my opinion. Just as stupid as when they traded Shea Hillenbrand last year. With the Nomar trade we get 2 players - whatever. I'm so pissed off right now. Nomar IS the Red Sox ( Read more... )

well, all the sports journalists (the assholes) are saying Nomar wanted to leave, but NESN interviewed Nomar and he was saying how if it was his choice he'd still be playing for Boston. he said he loved the fans here and would always remember the support they gave him. he looked about to cry too when he said all this.

anyway, i'm ready for football season too! :)

Welcome to Cleveland, that's how they play any sort of sport - trade off the good guys when they get good!

I heard about this via my friend that's an avid Yankee fan... needless to say she's happy as a lark!

we would have lost Nomar at the end of the year anyway to free agency.. he may have wanted to stay in Boston, but they had already offered him something like $60M and he turned it down.. so as far as I see it, his loss, not ours!!! I'm actually not that upset about it.. I mean, I liked Nomar and all.. but he has been dealing with major injuries this year, and the guys we got are good players.. so I'd rather see a trade for something worthwhile, rather than lose him to free agency for nothing anyway!!

Oh, and it went something like this.. Chicago got the guy from the Twins, who then traded him to us for Nomar.. Chicago traded Alex Gonzalez to Montreal and we got Orlando Cabrera in return.. not sure who the Twins ended up getting out of that deal.. then we traded Henry Stanley (who???) to the Dodgers for Dave Roberts (I think is his name).. got it? LOL.. I only remember because I was in the car yesterday, so I was pretty focused on listening to the radio! LOL
