Oh my goodness, Matilda. I used to pretend she was my bff in primary school. I can't tell you how many times I read that book. By far my most favourite Roald Dahl book (except for the grown-up tales later on).

I like to think Snape did it for both. There's something annoying about how obsessive it makes him seem and it kind of undermines how good a wizard he was.

Right? She was adorable you just wanted to sit there and :> at her.

As for Snape, possibly. It just...cheapened the character for me a little bit. Which is a terrible thing to say about True Love, but it made Lily's only purpose in the books to be a motivating force for Snape and Harry, and it removed the opportunity for Snape to be acting for purely moral reasons, and not motivated by emotion.

Whatever. I love Rowling, and I love these books, but she fell down on the Slytherins so much. And basically anyone who wasn't a Gryffindor, period.

And that's right about when I turn to fanfiction and rp :] Because as nice as the books are, and as much as I love them, I need something a little deeper and more answers >_>

5: Robin (Dick Grayson) was totally my first crush in the DC universe. He always seemed rather to keep his head about him when everyone around him was flipping out, in the Silver Age, and that seemed to continue being his function even when he stopped being Batman's sidekick and was doing his own work. I forget which DC author said that Dick Grayson was the hinge that the DC universe flexed around, since he knew everyone, but I have to agree: Dick always got on well with everybody- despite Batman's best efforts.

10: Well yeah, who knew, you found Nightcrawler's struggle with looking frightening as heck vs. being a good person fascinating. However, as character development goes, he was also my favorite.

13: I'm kinda emphatically with you, there. I'd've preferred Snape going 'OK, I can side with the dick who kills all his allies, or can side with the person who lets his allies live'.

5: Oh I'm talking about the Burt Ward Dick Grayson, too. And the one on Superfriends and later the Batman Animated Series, which remains one of my favorite television adaptations of anything. Surprisingly, I never much read DC comics, and I couldn't really tell you why that is, since my mother literally potty-trained me by sitting me on the throne and telling me stories about Wonder Woman, Batman and Robin. I guess by the time I got old enough that it occurred to me that not all books need to be in novel form, we were in the Jason Todd years and Dick had moved on to be Nightwing and I never bothered to really sort that out.

We will not speak of Blüdhaven. Ever ( ... )

Yeah she's not actually that big of a jerk. And I still totally :3 when thinking about the scene where she walks Boo Radley back to his house and stands on the porch and just...lives in his shoes for a few moments. EMPATHY PEOPLE. THIS BOOK WILL TEACH YOU IT.

But she still wasn't as awesome as Matilda. Matilda had psychic Shut Up And Stop Being Mean To Me powers.

Although, Matilda wasn't as awesome as Atticus Finch. Who I would marry. At once.

HEY. HEY. HEY. HEY. WHEN ARE YOU COMING TO NY? HEY.

Yay for Skywise!

I am sensing that you are influenced by a significantly large number of rather short characters. Good choices, good choices.
