We had a foal at work that was allergic to his own mother's milk, as well as cow's milk. At 3 days old he had to be separated from his mom. They were both in stalls with video monitoring, and I would just sit there and watch that poor mare in her stall freaking out while the foal just laid there. D:
(They finally got him on goat's milk, and they've both gone home now, but it broke my heart to watch that poor mare.)
We also have a gorgeous GV stallion who's NOT there for breeding (don't know why he's there, really--maybe collection) who's in the barn with all of those brood mares. Poor guy's going nuts, lol.
