A-and possibly I will be too if I can get my dang butt in gear in...well, rping in general AND ALSO AU APP. They're hard.
And I feel you on Mayfield. It is really weird about activity. It goes slow for a while and then GOES TO LUDICROUS SPEED AND EVERYTHING TURNS PLAID it is hard to keep up with sometimes. A lot of times.
Man. AU stuff. It makes my head spin SO BAD. I'm not the biggest fan of jamjars, admittedly, but I have a hard time coming up with AUs that aren't just like... a pale shell of what the original canon was.
TELL ME ABOUT IT. I should probably also be keeping the jamjar thing in mind for Mayfield too, honestly. It's such a fun community, but I also noticed that I was stuck being really reactive. Like... nothing was really in my character's control and they're just kinda going "OH NO DISASTERS. OH NO MURDERS. OH NO POISON IN THE WELL."
I guess that's kind of a part of... pretty much every game ever, though. %U Maybe I should just app a less proactive character this time around.
The thing about Mayfield is that even for a Jamjar it's pretty restrictive. It comes with the territory, but "950s suburb" doesn't lend itself to a lot of interesting stuff to do outside of plots.
BUT YEAH, I think I have it easy because the character I'm taking to Sky Tides is already a pilot type from a steampunk-y canon that uses crystals for things so it is not that much of a stretch but still...
