kinda. i'm at least a little surprised that they passed the same bill that they failed 4 days ago with no discernable changes except to make it more expensive.
Ah, but see, they bought off those that voted against it. A Rep from Iowa voted no? Here's 500 Mil for "disaster relief" from the floods. Kentucky Rep? Here, have 500 Mil for "rural schools" etc.
Nothing had changed, except added incentives for a person to vote a Yes. *coughbribecough*
I quite honestly think we were fucked over. It's funny how this crisis has been looming for about 5 years, but if we didn't PASS TEH BILL LAST WEEK OMG HURRY we'd slide into a depression.
I don't like to be rushed, it's usually a dead giveaway that they are trying to slide something past me.
My economics professor says the bill does absolutely nothing to stop this from happening again, just helps out those banks currently in trouble.
God, I hope Ohio goes to Obama. I think if he wins us, he'll win it.
