Public schools become cesspools of psychological ill-health, in various forms, precisely because it's an environment that encourages the spread and growth of these 'contagious' psychological malfunction memes. Every social construct is a machine with some power-hungry sophist's goals in mind. And it is unfortunate that people are willing to give up the pursuit of (potentially) happier lives for complacency with sameness and routine. Some among us, at least, are in an enviable position to see the nature of these constructs and to avoid them for the sake of our own happiness.

But real happiness may never come for human kind as a whole until people cease to be afraid of taking responsibility for their own lives.
