yeah...our education about slavery is incomplete. It wasn't until college that I realized there was still outright slavery going on in the world. :(

I understand how little we're taught. It always appalls me to see how blithely it is dismissed by people who should be offended such as diplomats, non-governmental organizations and others who seem not to realize that to demean one person's humanity is to demean all of our humanity.
