i just found a knife (like a butter knife, not a butterfly knife) in my back pocket, and i have NO idea how it got there.  not a clue.

no, not at all, which makes it even weirder. and i am generally also not given to putting utensils in my pockets.

Hmm. Methinks I smell a prankster. Unless there was a day in your life when you were searching for a flathead screwdriver and could only come up with a butterknife. That would be a situation in which I might stick it in my back pocket absentmindedly. Otherwise I would blame Ariel or Elena.
