Winter is moving in very fast -- it's supposed to be in the 30s (Fahrenheit, that is) on Saturday!  I'll have to turn my heat on Friday night.  I was sort of hoping to delay that a little longer, but it's already getting uncomfortably chilly here by the computer, and temps in the 30s are definitely worth the heating bill.  Although its supposed to ( Read more... )

Oh wow, how exciting! :D Congrats on the move -- I hope it goes well! (And hey, that means there are now several people in the Seattle area I would like to meet and hang out with -- I will have to get down there sometime!)

I remember my name change when I got married going very smoothly; it took awhile to get the paperwork turned in at all the places I had to, but there were no problems and the marriage certificate was all it took.

Seattle seems very cool! I'm hoping to meet a few people face to face myself. :D

I'm heading out to the SS office later today to get things started. It's a longer bus ride than I'd like, but I'd rather not mail things in, you know?

A little, probably. I've lived here all my life. But at the same time, that means I've been here almost 33 years! I'm ready for something new. And Seattle seems like it'll be amazing. :D

Good luck with the moving and everything else! We're moving house ourselves next month, staying in the area but relocating to a bigger place as our household is growing ( ... )

Haven't looked at Wedgewood, good to know! We'll probably have one vehicle between us, so somewhere bus accessible would definitely be better (though at least at first not necessary -- Chad'll be doing contract work to start, at his own schedule). He lived in Seattle for a while, and yeah, he mentioned the traffic. We're trying to find someplace north because apparently it's easier to get to the U-district if you don't have to come up through Downtown (and he's said several times we should avoid 5!)

Once we get closer to actually finding a place, I might need to pick your brain again!
