He's careful not to get any of it on himself, and those who can see clearly in the fading light will notice that his traditional cloak and robes are gone, replaced with well fitted pants and a shirt.

[Snape thinks he'd have liked to see the other one as well, even if the credit for that is due to Bellatrix. It's much more satisfying watching the death of a man you hate when he's actually himself and not some reanimated corpse.]
