Mmmmm!
I made pie! I made a homemade cherry pie!
Fresh picked cherries! Boy the acrobatics I had to do with the ladder to get to them!
My favorite part (note the dripping sarcasm) pitting and de-worming. This step usually takes up to an hour and I usually try to make it a contest for time to keep my mind off how many FRELLING cherries I have to pit. As for the de-worming, it wasn't too bad this year. I only had 10 cherries pop up with surprises inside.
This is the good smelling part! Look at all the tastiness!
Voila, Pie! Not the best looking pie I've ever made but who cares about looks - it was tasty! I used a deeper dish this year and thought I could get all the goodies inside but, alas, the juice overflowed when I poured it into the dish. Next year I'll go back to a more shallow dish and make two pies.
