I'm Not Dead... (which by the way is a great album by P!nk)
So sinfuldraconis reminded me that my last post here was 49 weeks ago.
How time flies when one is having fun... sometimes, anyway.
I guess most people have heard of this little book by Stephenie Meyer called Twilight...?
And this little movie they made based on the book.
I never thought I would ever, ever say a book series was better than Harry Potter, but the Twilight series just completely blew me away this year.
Saw the movie tonight - opening night in Australia - and absolutely loved it. Different from the book, but not in an OMG-what-have-they-done Prisoner of Azkaban way... it was perfect.
And between Twilight, climbing the career ladder a bit, studying a Master of Arts (Writing) and working on my own original writing this year, I haven't had time to do much else.
In home life it's certainly been a year of ups and downs... New Zealand trip with my bestie in Jan/Feb, lost Mum to cancer in March, went to Egypt with Dad in Oct/Nov and now finally moving into my house I bought back in July 2007 this weekend... as they say, it was the best of times, it was the worst of times.
For some reason it seemed like an appropriate time to post and let everyone know I'm still alive and still writing. I'll never stop writing, that's for sure. And I'll never stop reading my favourite HP fics either - the classics that got me writing in the first place.
I loaded some of them onto my iPhone and read them on the plane to Egypt. Sure beat lugging around a pile of books for the 3 week trip! Although I had the first 3 Twilight books in my backpack just in case :P
Ah, such is life.
