I nominated both I think (I know I nominated the drabble, thought I nominated either "Damn, I Missed the Reception" or "The Christmas Gift") But this isn't a matter of one person nominating like Quill to Parchment--in this contest it's the top five that run--IOWs, multiple people had to nominate you.
*grins*
Thank you for the stories--I hope someday when you have more time in your life we'll see more from you.

Me, too! While I've had random ideas floating around in my head, I haven't been able to make more of them, nor have I been able to complete what I've started. Not even a drabble!
I thank you, my friend. Your encouragement means so very much ... you have no idea!
Looking up my list which I kept, I actually nominated "The Christmas Gift"--which you'll probably see if they post the entire list of nominations. So, like I said, the nods you get don't represent one persons nominations--they had over a thousand I think. So for you to make the list several people had to nominate, "Damn, You Missed the Reception" (and the drabble) and it had to win out I'm sure over several contenders.
Thanks, my friend! You may not be surprised, but I'm truly shocked! It's like someone complimenting you on a shirt that you dug out of the back of the closet and almost gave to Goodwill but decided to wear one more time -- you want to say, "What? This old thing?"
Thanks, Mrs. 42! I'm grinning rather stupidly myself. And I imagine it will only get worse once the shock has worn off.
BTW, I'm absolutely salivating at the thought of hearing you perform Beethoven. How I wish I could be on the opposite coast! But alas, it's not meant to be. Our annual Messiah performance is this Sunday, but the alto section will be making do without me this year ... I fear my crazy schedule over the few months hasn't allowed me any rehearsal time. **pouts** However, I look forward to hearing how the concert went ... I know you'll keep us devotees posted!
You remind me that I've not yet announced that our local (live streaming!) NPR station will be broadcasting recordings of our performances in December at 7:00 pm on Sunday evenings. Time to go pimp it on my LJ! Beethoven 9 will be on December 30th, and the Messiah we did last year will be on Dec 23rd. And if you're feeling daring, the Berlioz Requiem will be this Sunday :D I'm sorry you won't get to do Messiah this year. You should at least have a Hallelujah chorus sing-along at home, especially if you already have a score! That inevitably happens Christmas morning at my parents house (where I will not be, alas). I think half the fun is watching me try to get the A at the crack of dawn. Speaking of cracking...
Live streaming? SQUEEE!! I've bookmarked your NPR station so I can tune in! (I'm so excited!)
A sing-along? Um ... yes ... well ... um ... see, my there's this thing ... uh, none of my progeny inherited any kind of vocal talent from me. They're all musically inclined, mind you, they just need external instruments with which to perform. Perhaps I'll give my score to my middle one and see if she can plunk out an accompaniment. That should prove festive!

But seeing the great enjoyment you create for people to read, it is hardly strange. XD
I shall check out the community, thank you.
