Guess the classic song and the band. In addition, just like QI, tell me something interesting about the song/artist or tell me an interesting anecdote about the song ( Read more... )

Awwww... those were the only two I could guess. You beat me to it.

I know I know #4 as well, I can almost hear it in my head, but I can't for the life of me place it right now. I strongly suspect that it's going to be a *headdesk* moment for me though....

I had one of those moments with seaislewitch, too. I knew the line came from a Doors song, but I couldn't place it.

7. Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers -- Free Fallin'

At least three others look really, REALLY familiar, but I can't place them.

George Harrison wanted to work on a new album in the late 80s. He and a few buddies got together for a jam session in a garage. One of the guys looked at a box that said, "Handle with Care," and they started tossing lyrics around. After they realized what a good thing they had started, George, Bob Dylan, Roy Orbison, Tom Petty, and Jeff Lynne became the Traveling Wilburys:

I got that one, too! Don't Fear the Reaper was on my playlist when I was writing my Snily.

Correct!

It definitely sounds like we do! I was born about ten years too late, I think.

My high school boyfriend introduced me to BOC. I can remember my best friend being determined to learn the piano intro to "Joan Crawford," and how excited she was when she finally had it figured out.
