I agree that it is a disgrace of classic rock songs to use them for commercials. However, commercials can make the music of an unknown artist break through.

We had an 'Appelsientje' commercial here, and the music and commercial fused together perfectly. The song used for the commercial actually became a hit, which was beneficial for the musician. From that point of view, the commercials can do some good as well.

Y'know, Sanne, I could see that being a very good thing. Music in a commercial provides instant recognition, which is probably another reason why a particular brand might wish to associate itself with a popular song. For a young/new artist, this could be a real boon to their career. I think it's a great idea. Perhaps we should take a lesson from you!

Plus, when using music from unknown artists, our classics stay untouched/untainted by commercials. :D

"Dear friends, we are gathering in celebration of Inell, whose presences in the Harry Potter fandom has enriched the experience for us all. Tomorrow is her birthday, so we'd like to invite you to join inell_love , a community to celebrate this lovely lady, with fiction, art, and stories that celebrate her giving spirit and caring nature. But there's one catch - it's a secret! So go join inell_love , and post away, so we can give a gift back to someone who has given so much to all of us!
