Perhaps you know of gas mask specifications, how they are rated and what protection they provide against bio warfare. For now I just have a couple old Israeli gas mask; rated protection from bovine flatulence. I used to use them for indoor enamel painting.

LOL! “bovine flatulence”...... That is about all they ARE good for. But then again, if you have nothing else to use at the time, then they are better than nothing. Of course, this is provided that you have a replacement canister for the one that you have already exposed to air, humidity and chemical? That one needs to be tossed unless you just want to keep it for training purposes. I will have to comment on this in greater depth later on this week I just do not have the time right now. But to try to answer your question as simply as possible for now, BIO's are next to impossible to protect yourself from unless you can identify the source in advance and isolate yourself from it. However, A FULL FACE MASK (FMF) with a rated “P 1000” “Mechanical Impact Filter” WILL protect you from just about all known air born pathogens. DO NOT buy or ever trust an “Electro Static Filter” like our Military currently uses, you will more than likely get sick or die after being in an “actual” HOT ZONE........ I do not know “eviltwin2” he is a friend of ticom. But I do know this product intimately. If he still has the “complete sets” available it is the highest quality at an incredible price. I have these myself.

virus outbreaks like flu epidemics require a fully rated moonsuit with appropiate filtering system. most gas masks, even military issued surplus nbc versions are not ever effective against viruvs attacks. meanwhile boosting your daily vitamin c to 500 up to 1000 mg to bolster your immune system would be good to do.

and as for the swine flu, what about the other two kinds of outbreak flus? if you want tyo travel and work with the crowds of coughing flu victums, then you choosde your owen risks there.
