Apologies to those who have already heard this rant

I didn't bother posting until now over this because it was only today that I found out I am not alone in my suspicions. I'm thinking the Caltex near uni may have started spiking their fuel. Since I last filled my car up there, its been acting up a bit. A dodgy fuel smell eminates from the engine when it runs, kinda like the smell of an old car that ( Read more... )

we almost always fill our car up with shell and we filled up with caltex a couple of days ago and it's been running just as normal.. sorry!
sure you put the right petrol in ? =P

Definately sure, since each servo has clashing colour codes, I'm exceptionally paranoid about checking such things.

I filled it up a couple of weeks ago there, and the strange smell and the like I've been experiencing is exactly the same as what I've heard in stories of others who filled up around that time.

Obviously your next option is to fill up somewhere else for a while then switch back to Caltex to see if it is them.

Let me know how the test goes.
