holy shit... you guys are our new neighbors (906 E. 55 1/2). Not only that, but you are now only 2 blocks from the Tamale House #3!!!

We have tons of house rennovating tools if you want to borrow, but it sounds like you guys got one that doesn't need too much done! Congrats!

yeah, we can walk to tamale house =)

we'll have a better idea of what needs to be done in the house after we meet with the inspector on sat.
the house was completely remodeled (taken down to the studs and rebuilt) in 2004. so HOPEFULLY there isnt much that needs to be done. but, of course, we already have ideas =)

Good luck with the inspection. We also bought our house as-is and it looked like a real dump from the outside (well, and the inside too). But underneath where all the wires and pipes and foundation stuff was it looked great. I hope yours does, too. And I would also suggest getting a termite guy that is separate from your regular inspection guy.

Did you know that our kids will go to the same school? ;-)

Also, I know how to lay tile and refinish hardwoods if you need to. We are also having these contracors convert our garage/shed into a bedroom and they are very good and very reasonably priced... I will get you their number because they do all kinds of different stuff!

the Tent Room is my own concoption. whereas, i will pitch a tent in a room in your house and we will have a slumber party in a tent. with cookies.

i was sooo out of it when i left tom's that i drove all the way down 6th W/O my headlights!!! i got pulled over and given a ticket...luckily i didnt have a reacurrance of my "issue" when i was pulled over =)
