here we go
it's like, ever since i was old enough to count and use time as a means of measurement, the year 2000 was the benchmark that meant "now" and now that now is almost 2010, like 1980 isnt (100-80) 20 years ago, its almost 30 years ago! and soon ill have been alive in post-2000 MORE than i was in pre-2000! why is that so daunting?

In a couple of years, we'll feel old just because we knew about life pre-millenium. It was funny, at one of my interviews over break, when the guy realized I was born in 1990, it like blew his mind that someone born "so recently" was already job hunting and he said I made him feel really old, even though he was only in his 30s.
