Ugh, you're hitting it spot on for me when it comes to power imbalances and your immediate squicks. As long as it is a CONSENSUAL power imbalance, I am okay with it. And as long as the sub isn't somehow seen as being "less than".

And yeah, there is a very particular way to writing non-con without in anyway fetishizing it. Agreed.
