Spring Break was pretty awesome, I must say. This was the last "Spring Break" I'll have- I'm graduating and without school there is no break. I may not have done anything exotic like going to Cabo or anything, but I had a great time anyway (though I wouldn't mind going to Cabo another time, haha).
Finals were over Wednesday, Thursday I worked and had dinner with my mom, brother, Ashleigh, and her sister Lacy (or is it Lacey?). MMM cheesecake factory. One day I will rob them of all their delicious brown bread and keep it all to myself and die happy in a carb coma. Or not. But I do love their bread.
FRIDAY!- SUNDAY! was spent with my mom in Southern California!
We drove down on Friday (after trying to leave 3 times; I kept forgetting things) and it was generally pleasant except getting caught in almost-suicide-inducing traffic in L.A. for two hours. 20 miles in 2 hours. I seriously contemplated going into the center divide. Never let me move to L.A. if you want me to live. Finally, we got to our Hotel and went to Downtown Disney for dinner and shopping. Saturday was spend at Disneyland! Yay Disneyland! Sunday we got up early and drove to Victorville to surprise my grandparents. And they were seriously surprised! I loved the look on my Nana and Papa's faces when they saw me! I also love the front yard Del Taco picnic I had with 7 of my family members. My family is nuts and I love it. ♥
Pictures, as promised :)
It started with a man and a mouse :)
Yay! We're there!
Obligartory castle picture.
With the Mouse himself!
During the parade; Dopey made a ball of light in his hand! Or, I caught someone else's flash. I like how this one turned out.
Adorable cousins, Katelyn and Arianna.
Gianna just couldn't stay still.
She (my cousin Tori) wouldn't let me take a picture of her, so I sat on her and took one of us together. :)
Gabriel watching the guys playing basketball.
(I took many more pictures, of course, but this is the condensed version.)
MONDAY: Nothing. It was sort of nice to sleep in (well as much as I do these days) and just hang around and unwind.
TUESDAY: Adventure with Sandi!
We wouldn't let the rain deter our adventure! We set out on the freeway and headed west, taking 37 to 101 and ending up here:
What a beautiful view:
You felt like you could reach out and touch it, we were so close. When it's nicer weather, a picnic in this spot is definitely in order.
We decided that you don't need a plan or mapquest to find amazing places to spend time. We drove around the Presidio and Sea Cliff homes/ Lincoln Park Area and came upon this beauty:
The Conservatory of Flowers (which I wanted to go to someday!)
So we went inside and I went seriously picture happy. Flowers are so prettttttyyyyyy!
...And that's not even all of the pictures I took there. I don't understand how some can look at beauty like that, and like the ocean, and think there's no God. Beauty like that doesn't just happen. Sandi and I kept saying that alllll day because our trip took us so many beautiful places.
After that we drove around to look at pretty churches and went by Haight-Ashbury, which is a crazy area. The buildings are painted wild colors and it's very amusing. We drove through more residential and saw amazing houses. We drove through the Castro and the outskirts of downtown. Eventually we got to the other side of San Francisco and decided we wanted to go back the other way, haha. We passed some areas where we said "remember when we got lost here that one time?" haha. So we ended up down on Embarcadero and went to go see the castle on Telegraph Hill.
Then we drove some more down by the pier, ended up by Robin Williams' San Francisco home, and then got to the Palace of Fine Arts finally (which we tried to get to before but got distracted). So pretty!
Yay! Then we got back onto the Freeway in record time and went to Olive Garden on the way home for dinner. Oh how I love pasta and salad and breadsticks. Then I get home and CD and Ash had made some Cheesy Bacon Mashed Potatoes and even though I was stuffed, I had to have some. A little slice of heaven right there. MMM. Then Mom, CD, Ash, Sandi, Chris, and I watched House as a family.
That was my Spring Break. It was loverly.
