My niece Bonnie has been posting on her sewing blog, and I thought I would post a link, since whatever she's up to, I'm usually up to too. Except the curtains, I try to stay away from that project.
What funny timing... I just bought my first (cheap) sewing machine (at age 39!) and have made a pillowcase, headbands, dog toys, and a t-shirt quilt, which I should finish up this weekend! :)
It might not be my best thing because I measure nothing, and I pin nothing... I mostly just wing it, so my straight, neat quilt is slightly... Curvy. And off center. But very, very me, and I AM having fun, (when I'm not cursing at the &$@!ing bobbin) so that's what matters at the moment. :)
I don't usually pin anything either. But measuring for quilts? Yeah, I think that one is required. :) We made a quilt as our Girl's Day project this year. My neice got everything together and she walked us all through making a useable square, then she put it all together. It was super fun, but I don't think I'd love making a whole quilt myself.
