At school, a teacher knocked on the door. Our teacher went to find out what was wrong. We were told to go into another room and sit on the floor. About half the kids on the hall were packed into one of the two rooms with a TV. The talking heads were in the middle of reviewing what had happened and the latest updates.
Retention is one of those numbers higher education leaders tend to review to determine how effectively the faculty reaches the students. Was using this RSVP form with Google Chrome and found the reCAPTCHA was telling me I repeatedly failed the Turing test. After the sixth time, I decided it might be my browser, so I tried it in Firefox which worked fine.
It drives me nuts to listen to 24-hour network news cover an important event such as the Mumbai attacks earlier. Give me facts. I got better information off the Twitter search for Mumbai than 30 minutes of CNN, Fox News, or MSNBC.
Have not slept well the past week... I have been the on call DBA. So I have the pager. Monday we joked things seem to be worse when I have it. Well... this week has been a shining example.
