Looks like Lib Dems and Conservatives are going to announce a deal. Nick Clegg has sold out; he has failed to deliver. He has missed the opportunity of a lifetime to construct a new progressive politics that would have governed for a generation.

Why would the lib dems and the conservatives make a deal? I would think the conservatives and lib dems wouldn't have ANYTHING in common, whereas the Labour and Lib Dems would have more of the same beliefs?
