I agree on the one-on-one thing. I did a lot more of that in grad school, and it's SO hard to do any during class time. But always a good summer option. Definitely loving all the paid time off teachers have in the summer! Everybody I work with is going on cool vacations, etc. I didn't go anywhere, but I did extra work in the summer and will basically be getting double paychecks in August! Not a bad gig. :)
It's good that they're still allowing you all to get year-round pay. Because of some silly tax code revision, our school system only issues paychecks during the school year. So summertime = creative budgeting.
Ohhh, really? That sucks!! If I were you I'd set up some kind of account so you can stash away some money and then take it out and not really feel like you're not getting paid over the summer.
