Never rode in a C5. Rode c-130's several times. One memorable ride was from Washington state to some AFB in south carolina. 15 or so hours, alternately freezing and roasting, as the heat in the cargo compartment had only two settings, on and off. It was summertime, and I was wearing whites. (Former naval person now.) They were pretty messed up by the end of that ride.
Tomorrow I'm going up to Quincy to tour the USS Salem at the Fore River Shipyard.
