[The communicator turns on with a click, revealing an image of a young man with long hair that’s falling into his eyes, staring around him with a confused expression on his face.

He’s surrounded by tall hedges, and he’s looking around him curiously.]All right, so I haven’t the foggiest idea where I’ve turned up, but I’m pretty sure James is behind ( Read more... )

I haven't seen any gnomes, I'm afraid, but I'll tell you if I do.

[Helpful smile!]

No gnomes? How utterly tragic.

[Sirius pastes on the most dramatically sad face that he can manage.]

Yes, it is quite disappointing. We're just seriously lacking in the magical creatures area. Although we do have quite the infestation of trolls, actually.

[Technically Miguel generally thinks of them as Los Niños Grises or "The Grey Children".]

Trolls? Great big things with stupid expressions and pea-sized brains?

[Because that's what he thinks of when he hears the word troll.]

No! Actually, they're rather smallish, as trolls go.

[Pause.]

Not that I'd ever seen one before I got here. But still.

Bollocks. They make good targets, if you're in the mood for target practice.

[That just means he's going to have to find something else to throw Stunning spells at. Once he gets a wand, anyway.]

Where're you from, anyway?

I'll have to take your word for it.

Spain, originally. You?

Great Britain. Well, okay, London, to be specific.

Fascinating! So many people from so many worlds, here! And I suppose you're from the future too? What year are you from, amigo?

sniffsbutt August 16 2011, 02:19:27 UTC
[He laughs.]

The future? No, more like 1977.

[He peers at Miguel curiously.]

Are there people here from after that?

Oh, yes! Most of the people I've spoken to have seen the year 2000!

[He squeals a little. This is AMAZING NEWS, okay?]

It's fascinating!

...Not that 1977 isn't also fascinating!

Oh, really?

That's ruddy brilliant, I suppose.

[He's not completely certain why Miguel is so excited about this, so of course he has to ask.]

Why is this so fascinating to you? Just... out of curiosity.

[Naturally, the future is a daunting thing to think about that most people would spend great chunks of time examining, but for a fellow like Sirius, he's more concerned with the present, and just living and having fun and things like that.]

kch_kch August 18 2011, 22:49:23 UTC
Uh, well...I'm from 1519, amigo. Quite a bit earlier than the rest of you, I'm afraid.

sniffsbutt August 19 2011, 22:48:38 UTC
Wicked.

So, does that mean you're really ancient?

[Because the fact that he's from 1519 clearly means he must be really old, obviously.]

kch_kch August 20 2011, 01:31:43 UTC
...I don't think I'm particularly old, no.

[And he doesn't quite get why Sirius would think that!]

sniffsbutt August 21 2011, 02:16:17 UTC
Well, let's think for a moment...

It's 1977 for me and 1519 for you.

[He's not trying to be mean. He thinks he's being logical about the whole thing.]

That means you're old.
