Hi there, (: I just happened to pass by and noticed you made your own things! I do that too! (Well okay, I only started today and I made my own pouch that looks like a Nintendo Gameboy (: ) Can I ask you where to get fabrics to make pouches?
Hahaha! And I'm glad I found youuuuu cos not alot of people I know like DIY heh heh. Oh okay thanks alot! Maybe one day we might bump into each other there hahaha.
I feel the same way. I always feel that because I do not come from any arts background whatsoever I have lesser rights to announce myself as an artist. But that's not where I see myself heading. I do art and/or craft because they make me happy, and don't plan to establish myself in the art spectrum or what.
But you should know that photographer Raydel Shanks has no background in arts or design or photography or anything, and shortly after her photographer sister just showed her some tips and hints on taking pictures, her work is featured in an exhibition. I think an artist blogger wrote about how, sometimes, it's not about the history of arts education you have, but you yourself. It's very uplifting, even for non-ambitious me.

hmm, if you like floral fabrics, you can try japanese cloths at arab street.
(usually its folded flat, roughly $10+/mtr)
if you want cute ones, you can try getting it online. ( http://www.reprodepotfabrics.com/)
or at spotlight, and even neighborhood shops.
