That's so sad... why couldn't they stop fighting? They couldn't even remember what it was about.

No, no, no, Vash- that's not what it's about! It's about pride, honor, and endurance. Those guys are real warriors!

But, why fight your friend? Did it have to be to the death? Neither are going to be happy when it may someday end.

... You don't fight friends without a reason. They can't remember it yet, but it's still there. Somewhere. [ If he only knew how stupid the reason was in the end >> ]

[ You don't understand, man. You don't understand the warrior fanboying. ] It has to end someday, somehow- it almost did while we were there. Even if the winner is sad, that's just how it is. And I mean- if I died in a fight like that, at least I'd know I respected the guy who beat me. After all that time...part of me would be glad that my friend got to go home again.

If they were friends...... Why did they continue to fight? What's the point of battle without a cause?

[ Nobody understands ;; ]

It wasn't without a cause at all- they just didn't let a little forgetting get in their way. You have to be really brave to do that.

[Well, It's pretty hard to explain it to a 16 year old kid who's been fighting a war for the past year or so.]

Still, why fight if you forget why you're doing it? For all they knew, they could be doing it for all the wrong reasons.

I understand the importance of staying true to yourself and being brave, but there is a line there.

[ Everyone's a critic. :]b ]

Do you think so? I actually really admire them for it. Even if a hundred years is hardly anything for a giant.

[Wide eyes.] Your world had giants.

[ Finally, a decent audience! ]

Yeah! A village of them.

Elbaf is probably even bigger than Little Garden.

Wow - wait. How big are we talking here? Like... to the top of the school house?

Bigger. Much, much bigger.

They must really find enjoyment in fighting one another, without any regards of reaching the same outcome each time.

[Voice- ow. My hopes.] sniperkingftw May 3 2010, 10:52:22 UTC
That, too. But mostly it's because their pride is on the line. You can't just stop fighting because you haven't won yet.

Sounds like stubbornness. If your battles always ended in a tie, especially how long they've fought, they can't just accept they are both strong warriors?

Reply

[Voice- damn science.] sniperkingftw May 3 2010, 20:10:23 UTC
It's not about proving they're strong, exactly. They both know they are.

...but stubbornness is probably a good word anyway.

Good thing you noticed, then. I'll make sure to get some.

Of course I did - I probably drink the most of it! I was going to get some last night, actually, but the thought must have slipped my mind.

Well, you do if nobody's sick right now, anyway.

[ ... >8| ] I don't mind doing it.

How are you feeling?
