-Phone; terribly awfully fail!locked-

I heard that this lets us talk to everybody in town, and I was wondering if anybody has a suit and hat I might be able to borrow. [Does she sound overly chipper? Just a bit; if you listen very carefully, it's obvious that it's being faked. She doesn't want to tip off any drones that she might be up to ( Read more... )

[She sounds nice enough, but he wants to at least make an effort to check if she wants it for nefarious purposes. He doesn't want to wind up getting framed. ]

I can probably lend it to you, but what do you need it for?

Can you lock these phone conversations? If not, I would be more comfortable explaining in person.

I only know how to call..I can't quite wrap my head around locking the thing.

I don't know, I'm not very good with stuff like that. I don't have a problem with meetin' in person, if you think that'd be easier.

In person would be better. Where do you live?

[She jumps, hanging up the phone. She'd been so preoccupied with trying to sound chipper on the phone she hadn't heard him come up behind her.]

Yes, a suit and a hat.

Indeed it is! emperor_cowboy July 11 2011, 05:31:48 UTC
Might I ask why?

[He was heading outside for a smoke break, and happened to overhear her.]

The gentleman at the hardware store won't even speak to me.

[She looks up at him.] And I'm quite a bit smaller than you, so I couldn't borrow one from you. It would be too obvious that it was borrowed.

I've been doing a bit of work with clothes for a few years, knitting socks and hats mostly, but I might be able to help you some if you haven't someone already.

I would appreciate it, if you don't mind, Miss...

It isn't much; I need to fix the collars on a few of the dresses I was supplied with here, or add something around the neck, that's all.

Granger, Hermione Granger. It's no trouble at all, really.

How high? I've never done anything of the sort but I do know the theory from looking into it, certainly shouldn't be too difficult.

Thank you, Miss Granger. I'm Riza Hawkeye.

No higher than a collared shirt[There's an audible pause over the phone.] I have a...scar from when I was in an accident as a child. I'd rather not people notice, it simply isn't worth the questioning.

[ She just side eyes and glances at Hawkeye, totally unamused with that disguise. ]

It's almost complete, but you're lacking the inordinate moustache. Seriously, who do you think you're fooling with this look?

[Don't taunt her too much today, Lust; the gun is safely in a shoulder holster, and it's easily accessibly. She barely turns when Lust addresses her.]

I don't need to fool you, just the drone who worked in the hardware store.

[She says this a bit triumphantly, if only because she had.]

[ She doesn't have her stone back but she's killed people the second they whipped out their guns anyways RIGHT FATHER CORNELLO?? ]

A fake moustache could fool the drone. [ blunt; sarcastic. maybe a jab at hawkeye's masculinity. ]

[Have a not!amused face.]

I've already fooled the drone.

[She presses the hat down against the top of her head. Don't worry, Lust. She could shoot you pretty damn fast here, and seeing as you are the primary reason she got herself a gun, she wouldn't hesitate either.]

[Having acquired enough extra income to do so, Kiritsugu decides to visit the hardware store as well.]

[While he'd much favor having the Contender, he decides that this is better than having no weapon at all, considering the circumstances. He considers himself lucky that he was able to get a Smith & Wesson Model 59, which is not unreasonable for the time period, but still somewhat recent.]

[Similarly, he starts walking home, noticeably more at ease, even if not by much.]

[She'd seen him enter just a few moments after her, and recognized the look of relief when he'd gotten his weapon.

They appeared to be walking in the same direction, and when they were well out of earshot of the store, she finally felt it safe to address him.] I wouldn't have thought Mayfield sold firearms, but I am glad they do.

[If Kiritsugu didn't know about her gender prior to this, he doesn't display any surprise once he does.]

Likewise. It's too dangerous to live in unarmed.

Are you familiar with weaponry?

[She nodded.]

I'm a sniper at home.

Are you?
