going from this:

.:Translatable?:. Nope because of SC

.:Other Examples:.

Yup another coloring tutorial in lightening up caps (or pictures in this case) but hey the more tutorials in lightening them up the better :) so here we go:

1:.   First as always, get you picture, mine is from Supernatural The Legacy of a new Season 2 Promo of the hottness that is Jensen Ackles and crop it to your liking

2:.   I officially don't use Screen layers to brighten up pictures anymore (they ruin them and get way to bright), now I use Curves (Layer>New Adjustment Layer>Curves) and I just pull the curve up. Here are my settings:

RBG:
        Input: 27
       Output: 61

3:.   I wanted his skin tanner, so I added a Color Fill  layer (Layer>New Fill Layer>Solid Color) with a brownish color #6a5019 and set it to Soft Light at 60%.

4:.   Now I messed around with a Color Balance layer (Layer>New Adjustment Layer>Color Balance) with these settings:

Midtones: -7, -5, -5
    Shadows: 0, -12, -21
    Highlights: +10, +11, -7

5:.   Then my best buddy, Selective Coloring :) to make his skin now less brownish (Layer>New Adjustment Layer>Selective Coloring)

Reds:  -11, +14, +32, -27
    Yellows:  +39, +23, -27, +12
    Whites:  -31, -25, -17, -48
    Neutral:  -3, -9, -6, +2

6:.   Another Color Balance layer just to mess around with it again (I experiment with every layer adjustment until I get what I want):

Midtones: +17, +10, +23

7:.  Final (Optional) step, I wanted hot Jensen a little bit lighter so instead of adding another curves layer I filled a layer with a light yellow #f9f7c3 and set it to Soft Light at 20%.

8:.   (Optional) I always sharpen my images at the end because sometimes when you do it at the beginning it could ruin the picture because of the coloring, so I did a  Smart Sharpen  and left everything at default except I changed Amount: 36. Now don't over do it, over sharpening looks yucky and is never pretty.

So that's it! Hope you liked another way of lightening caps XD Here are other examples with the same coloring (except with no step #7 because it looked too yellow and light)
