So, I went to see the terracotta army today. Not the one in China though (sadly, but one day, I will go there as well!), but a small exhibition in Bochum. And let me tell you, this army is beautiful and very well done. I love it. The exhition itself is kind of disappointing and not really worth the money. Here are some pictures...
Their faces have incredible detail and each figure is supposed to be unique.
The army had real weapons with them. A lot of them got lost over time because an army stole them to fight some war. The crossbows are replicas for obvious reasons.
HORSES *squee* (the ones in the second picture are life-size)
Aaaand, the first emperor of a united china himself: Quin Shi Huang Di
His Throne
Took a panorama picture with my mobile phone, unfortunately the light was crappy so that you can't see that much.
So yeah: Awesome army, poor exhibition with little information.
