Dr. House goes on a road trip!

This was an enjoyable episode. The road trip was refreshingly different. We learned some interesting facts about House's past. Tritter's presence added a dash of menace. The ending involved the kind of brazenly unethical yet ultimately noble behavior we've come to crave from House. And, as a reformed Night Court junkie, I will always be happy to see John Larroquette.

I think the biggest flaw about the episode is that it never made me care all that much about the fate of Coma Guy's son.

Coma Guy's tit-for-tat sessions with House reminded me, the Silence of the Lambs reference notwithstanding, of Robert Goren's interactions with Nicole Wallace on Criminal Intent. We learned that House met Stacy playing paintball. And we also learned that House was inspired to become a doctor in Japan. Thankfully, that inspiration was anything but romanticized or idealized; it had to do with the attractiveness of being right. Perfect.

I really, really thought Chase was going to sell out House during the interview with Tritter. But not only did he not do that, but he made sure that his estimate of how many pills House takes was more or less in line with what Cameron (who was back in just-fell-off-the-turnip-wagon mode) had said.

I couldn't believe it when Wilson asked that woman if she was interested in swinging. Hell of a memorable way to establish an alibi!
