Dr. House screws up!
This episode took the road not taken back in "Detox" from Season 1. House was unable to overcome his Vicodin lust to come up with the brilliant last-second diagnosis, and only Dr. Chase's epiphany stood between the young patient and amputation.
I can't think of an episode where House was a bigger jackass. Telling Dr. Cuddy that it was a good thing she failed to become a mom because she would suck at it was far beyond his usual assortment of clever put-downs. And then he punched Chase in the face for no good reason. I was glad to see Dr. Wilson visit Tritter at the end; clearly, House needed to be reined in.
I liked the way Tritter made use of Chase's reputation for opportunism to set him up. And I liked the "It's never lupus" in-joke.
