Dr. House goes it alone.
I thought this was a good episode. We got to see House in a new light -- sans Dr. Foreman, Dr. Cameron and Dr. Chase. The twist at the end was touchingly sad. And wasn't that a sweet Flying V that House was rocking?
Dr. Wilson stepped up and admirably filled the vacuum left by the departed three. It was funny to watch him putting little to no effort into disguising his kidnapping of the guitar.
"Dr." Buffer was great. I liked how House translated his simple observations into possible diagnoses. His suggestion to House that the problem might be lupus was perfect. And the way that the good "Dr." robotically repeated the request to get consent for treatment later on was funny.
I will be looking for future appearances of the young doctor with whom House conferred toward the end of the episode. It seems like a waste to give them that scene together in the hallway if she's going to never be seen again.
Was House trying to be compassionate when he let the guy know at the end that his girlfriend hadn't lied to him? It's a possibility.
I thought Dr. Cuddy made a very important point at the end. House did solve the case, but had his former staffers been around, the case would have been solved much faster.
