Dr. House ventures into the Great Beyond while his fellowship candidates battle it out.
Not really the most engaging episode. But I have to respect an episode in which the patient AND his dog die, and from a doctor's mistake, no less.
Dr. Foreman's storyline wasn't particularly interesting. I will admit that it made some valid points. Watching House lead a team is a lot more interesting than watching Foreman lead a team, and Foreman needs to have superiors who will reward him for gutsy calls. But I think we could have assumed the first point, couldn't we? As for the second point, they either needed to give him more time to struggle so we could become a little more invested, or just forget about the whole thing and have him show up at Princeton-Plainsboro after he got fired. Maybe I'm spoiled by The Office, which let the scenes at the other branch play out over the course of multiple episodes.
House's self-electrocution storyline seemed very underdeveloped. As far as I can tell, his decision to ride the lightning was based on nothing more than a hey-this-might-be-cool-to-try impulse. I would have preferred a stronger motivation. I did like his reasoning for paging Dr. Conniving Bitch to be his savior. It would appear that this is going to be explored in future episodes, given that it wasn't really resolved, so it could turn out to bear fruit.
Dr. Chase was gold. He went behind House's back to help Dr. Conniving Bitch, then rebuffed House's abuse like a Jedi Knight. And Dr. Cameron got in a good line to top things off.
I liked the part with the dog at the end.
