I was broadsided in 1992, hit dead on my passenger door and pushed into the other lane. I was driving, going about 40 when the girl ran the stop sign because she was late for Days--she admitted going 55 through the intersection. I had bruising and swelling in my brain from where my head hit the window and door post. It has lasting, lifelong effects: when I get tired, I can't think straight or spit out my words. I have balance issues. I'll be saying something and blank out what I was saying. And I lose track of time fairly often.
I can't imagine that someone won't have some sort of brain injury.
