I am so irritated with my attending this month that I seriously find myself fighting the urge to tell him to fuck off. He reminds me a lot of Chevy Chase's character on 'Community'-- dumb, but thinks he's the shit. They look a lot alike, too

Teaching English is like that too with the weird rules. In Japan how long you've been at a company counts for everything unless you're not Japanese then you're just the monkey they hire to dance in the corner. Our employers hate us and would pay us pennies if they could get away with it, but as it is they just take the absolute minimum required by the government and then tell us we should be grateful. Not to paint a poor picture because I love it here, but when you look at the management aspect of it life in Japan can be pretty shit.
So next time you get annoyed just stand facing a wall, pretend he's on the other side of it, and be like "Really? Really?!" and laugh a little. You'll feel better. At least I usually do.
