so everyone here all agreed that last year's dinner was better than this year's. meanwhile, I actually enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would, so clearly the only conclusion is that my not eating meat was the right choice

Maple carrots sound delicious, omgggg. And garlicky biscuits, too :O Mayve I'll suggest those for my family's Christmas dinner...I don't eat turkey either, so I always have to come up with tasty side dishes.
well, you know. you could have been all for maple, but disgusted with honey. ;P
stuff you need!: bag of carrots (baby ones are best 8D) tbsp olive oil tbsp honey salt, pepper to taste
preheat oven to 400 mix the carrots with the oil, salt and pepper; then put them in a baking tray or whatever and put the honey over them. (I guess you could mix the honey in beforehand, too?) aaaand bake about 25/35 minutes, but you can do it however long until it's.. how you like carrots. ;P

People always ask me what I do for Thanksgiving because they can't conceive of it without turkey. But I'm with you. Side dishes are where it's at!
