There used to be a way, using the LJ Console, to set the minimum security of one's journal. For example, any time I post, it will not be less than friends-only unless I go back and edit it.
However, I can't find the console command for this and it doesn't seem to exist in searches.
All you do is to go to the Admin Console while logged in and then enter this code set newpost_minsecurity friends then hit execute and you're done! Your whole journal is now set up where you don't have to worry about setting the security.
Setting the minimum security level of your journal will not affect the interface for updating your journal with the Update Journal page, a downloadable client, a voice post, or a post by email.Any of these interfaces will appear to default to 'Public', but LiveJournal will automatically change the security of the entry to your default level. Pretty wicked huh?
Hi, people call me Angel Kitty, it's nice to meet you. :)
Welcome to the ranks of the pedagogically inclined, where we attempt to keep the mythos that we ENJOY living in our classrooms, while trying to connect to students. Yay for lives lived behind "friends only!"
P.S. If you want, you can steal my friends only sign!
