first December snow

So, I came home from Sendai last night (more on that later), and there was a disappointing lack of snow and ice on the ground. It looked like the autumnal atmosphere I had just come from. *sigh* Not at all how I think December should look. But what to my wondering eyes should appear this morning? I went into New York City to take the JLPT at Columbia yesterday. I'm not optimistic about the results. The Writing/Vocabulary wasn't as difficult as I expected, but I was still confused by a lot of the questions. Too many kanji that look alike. The listening section was murder. I finished Reading/Grammar, but only because I stopped halfway through the reading, rushed through the grammar questions at the end, then went back and finished the reading in a hurry. I never actually got to Sendai while in living in Japan, but I think you're correct on its appeal. It's the last 'big' city before hitting the boonies. How's everyone in Morioka been lately? I've been too busy with studying for the test and grad school apps to stay in touch.

The Listening section was indeed a blur of failure, passing me by. Writing/Vocabulary was the easiest section for me, and I was grateful for it. My biggest weaknesses were Listening and Grammar.
Don't feel as if you missed anything by not going to Sendai. You really, really didn't.
Everyone in Morioka is good, of the people that are still here from last year. New folk are fine, too. Not many people going home for Christmas this year, which I don't understand, but different strokes for different folks, I guess.
And also? You should post to your journal more.
