I graduated about 3 days ago. I guess it all went well. Nothing incredibly bad happened. I was actually somewhat content most of the day. I loved life, basically. I really wasn't sad about graduation, which is exactly what I wanted ( Read more... )

werd, Todd Solondz is some kind of awesome. I saw him speak at the indie film festival in New York last year when Palindromes came out, and he was really funny and dark, much like his films. It's strange to see a person like that and believe that every little facet of their artwork really came out of their own singular brain. If you're not up for watching anymore depressing films, though, don't see his others. I think that Palindromes and Welcome to the Doll House are pretty much his most--umm-- light-hearted? If you can believe that.

I've never heard of Angels of the Universe. Do you recommend it?

And congratulations on graduating--- I've never been to a high school graduation before where people had to wear tuxedos! Fancy schmancy, sorry it was so hot.

where are you going to college?

anna kate!

hmm, i'm thinking twice about watching more of solondz' movies, then.
i've read about "happiness" and "storytelling", and they do sound really depressing, too.

"angels of the universe" is really hard to find, but if you do happen upon it, it's not a waste of time. it's really serious, and quite disturbing, as i said. i wouldn't bee too animate about recommending it, though.

i'm going to UNC Asheville this fall. i'm slightly excited, to tell you the truth.
i'm really going to miss georgia, though.

love,
jules
