iPad = <3

I did it. I caved and picked up a new iPad (16GB + 3G) this last Friday. Absolutely loving it. I was not in the market for one when it first came out, but then the new job came up and realizing there may be a few weeks with no computer while moving to Seattle next month. This was cheaper than a new laptop (old one belongs to work and gets ( Read more... )

Oh,

Hello Joe! I didn't realise you had ADDED me as a friend! Here I am! *waves*

My Husbear Roy got his the day they were released in Australia (May 28th) - I'm getting mine next week, I think. They're hard to find - stock keeps disappearing very quickly! :-(

And we get the iPhone 4 released here in Oz.... excited!

Hehe, no problem. I was just doing some housecleaning on the friends list--nothing personal. :)

I got lucky and the Apple store had them in stock. They say they usually run out by early evening. There are still lines here to get iPhones and iPads activated. At least Apple takes the time to get the devices setup and running before you leave the store.

I've heard from several friends who bought the iPad with hesitation and not sure how they would use it. Nearly all of them said they ended up being much happier and many of them get into iBooks and other e-reading that they did not do before.

It does not replace a computer/laptop and it does not replace a smartphone. It really is in between those two devices.

That's good to hear. I would be even more interested in getting one now that I have the iphone4 and don't hate it. I agree about it being very intuitive, I thought it would be a stretch going from the BB but I don't miss mine now.

I've had Macs for years now, but this is even more intuitive than I thought it would be. No big menus anywhere which seems odd at first, but you later find out you don't need a full menu and lots of buttons to get your job done.
