Back on the diet wagon

Weight finally creeped back up to 180. Remember when I got down to 160? Yeah, totally destroyed that over the past 8 months. I strapped on my calorie burn monitor Sunday morning from BodyMedia (several people from here have been asking lately) and now tracking what I'm eating and how much I'm burning. After just a day or two of looking at the ( Read more... )

I think you need to post pictures to show what it's like. The naughtier, the better! (remember, some of us LIKE how a guy looks at 180 *grin*)

You can totally take care of this! I am using one of those monitors as well, the one that sends the info to my iPhone. I'm still working out the kinks. I'm not sure that my burn is as high as the monitor is saying, but I'm tracking calories carefully. I should be able to tell within a relatively short time whether I need to cut back. BodyMedia is putting my BMR at 3850, which is about on par with most BMR calculators. On days when I am moderately active (without intentional exercise) it's giving me a burn of over 5000. I'm not compensating my intake (2850) unless I work out. Overall, I'm pretty impressed with the device.

No iPhone or Android here so I'm sticking with the old non-wireless version for now.

5000? Wow. A typical day (without planned exercise) is about 2500 calories. Trying to limit my intake to 2000 calories right now. I found out earlier that if I burn 500 calories more than I consume everyday, I lose about 1 pound per week.
