Have not ruled that out either. The change in behavior happend as soon as we got those new stairs. When our dog walker gets there and all evening long when we're there, there are no issues with accidents.
He hates changes, so this one may have pushed him over the edge. If no accidents the next few days, I think we can say it was the awkward stairs. I only want to change one thing at a time to isolate the problem.
Bleurgh - I know that anger! Whilst we've never had a problem with poop - we have a phantom vomiter (well, it's one of the two cats and my money's on the gutso who wolfs his food down and runs crazy mad-like all round the house). And he always leaves his presents on a bed, or a rug - never the easy-to-clean tiles or wood floors :S
