This past friday i let my senior advisor (Ryan Love) and the electronica artist i interviewed (Leeni) listen to the song. While both of them had a few comments and suggestions the general response was good. Ryan Love gave me some pointers on editing and Leeni gave me some advice on polishing the final draft. I still cant get over how difficult this is. Its been about two months and ive written about two minutes of music.
Not for lack of effort eithor. Ive easily cleared my fifty hours now and still have lots of work to do. Once my quarter at north ends i can really sit down and get this stuff done.

hooray! i may or may not have finished my first track last night.
it took me about a month fiddling with one song to just decide to start a new one. it took me about ten minutes to crank one out that i feel it really represents why i wanted to do this project in the first place. hooray!

overall ive spent about 10 hours learning how to use garage band.
its nice just to sit down with a pair of headphones and my laptop and just sort of hack away at it.
while im not getting these wonderful melodic songs like id like, ime learning how much patience and time it takes just to create ten seconds.

Spent the last three days working on thirty seconds of one song. I have a feeling this will be a slow agonizing process. RIght now im looking in to either borrowing my mentors omnichord or maybe buying one. Right now im just using a mic and a keyboard wich technically is not electronica music ( Read more... )
