So, a paper with a clear anti-American, anti-liberal, pro-Big Business stance uses questionable and unverifiable 'proof' that the US government isn't handling the disaster well?
And the thing that irritates me more is if we had the same policies about spills that they have in place, with the equipment, we'd be doing much better right now. But we don't , and when we get offered help, 'sorry, we don't need you'
Obama is giving the "no government" crowd a taste of what they have been screaming for - a small experience without government "intruding" on what is all BP's fault. Had he taken over, everyone would be screaming about government confiscation of private property and such. He's letting big oil swing on their own rope and at the same time giving the down-with-gov folks a preview of their future. If in the future there's almost no government, then you've got nobody to call when stuff goes south. BP f'd up -- BP can fix it and pay the damages.
Incidently, absolutely nothing prevented BP from asking for those exact same boats or bringing them over. So save half the anger for the folks who actually caused the disaster and refused to do something about.
